We're working on behalf of a Joint Commission-accredited, 236-bed healthcare facility in Chicago that partners with some of the finest academic medical systems in the nation.  As such, the hospital's patients benefit from technologically advanced diagnostics and effective treatments long before those options are available elsewhere, all within a convenient, community setting along Chicago’s Lakefront.  Serving a primary service area of more than 600,000 people, including neighborhoods from Lakeview and Logan Square, to Rogers Park and Skokie, the hospital provides clinical care in many adult specialties including: cancer, cardiac, orthopedics and sports medicine, rehabilitation, senior health, vascular, digestive diseases, emergency medicine, ear/nose/throat, ophthalmology and eye surgery, general medicine, radiology, plastic surgery, podiatry, respiratory and urology.
 
Looking for a great opportunity?  We seek a Registered Nurse with two (2) or more years of inpatient case management experience in an acute care setting for the role of Director of Case Management.  In this role you will assume primary responsibility for directing the Case Management Department, its processes and functions.  You will collaborate with allied health professionals to promote and ensure that quality care is provided and outcomes are achieved in a timely and cost-effective manner.  You will utilize an interdisciplinary process to assess, plan, and provide patient care for specific diagnoses from pre-admission through aftercare.  You will assist in organizing internal processes and systems to prevent avoidable hospital days . You will promote appropriate post-hospital utilization of resources, adequate education of patient and hospital staff, and decreased incidence of re-admissions.

Candidates must have a Bachelors degree and be licensed as an RN in the state of Illinois (or have the ability to gain this licensure). Preference given to candidates with certification in an approved Case Management Program.  Must have three (3) or more years of relevant clinical experience required, with a minimum of two (2) years of management experience.  Must have three (3) or more years of Utilization Management/Case Management experience, preferably in an acute hospital setting.  Must have extensive knowledge in reimbursement methodology and Case Management activities.  Must have strong critical thinking skills, effective written and oral communications skills, strong self-initiative and interpersonal skills.  Must have strong leadership skills.
