Looking for a change of scenery?  We seek a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a great opportunity at a 196-bed hospital in Bemidji.  In this role you will assist in the diagnosis, treatment ,and management of patients with pulmonary disorders.  You will analyze sputum, blood, and breath specimen collections along with lung capacity measurements of patients.  This role may include collecting sputum, blood and breath specimens for diagnosis and analysis.  You will perform regular assessments of patients and the equipment they are using in order to adjust oxygen levels as needed.  You will analyze patients' blood and other specimens to determine levels of oxygen, carbon dioxide and other gases. You will measure the patient’s lung capacity to determine if there are any impairments.  You will offer diagnosis results and treatment suggestions based on the analysis of the patient.

Candidates must have a degree in Respiratory Care from a COARC accredited, advanced-level respiratory program or Certification as a Respiratory Technician (CRT).  Preference given to candidates with a Bachelor's Degree in Respiratory Care.  Must hold current Respiratory Therapy licensure in the state of Minnesota. Must have RRT or CRT credentials as attained through the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) within six months of employment and maintain active status according to NBRC credentialing requirements. Certification in Basic Life Support, ACLS, PALS, and NRP is required. Must have a thorough knowledge and understanding of all procedures, indications, contraindications and hazards involved in respiratory care, as well as knowledge of life support equipment. Must be able to demonstrate the ability and knowledge required to utilize computers for patient documentation and data gathering for quality care.
