We’re working on behalf of a 164-bed acute care facility that has proudly served the San Luis Obispo community since its inception in 1959.  The hospital provides the county’s only da Vinci Surgical Robot program, offering minimally invasive, highly accurate surgical procedures.  The hospital also offers five services – Neurosurgery, High-risk pregnancy care, Pediatric care, Trauma care, Neonatal intensive care - that are offered by no other hospital in San Luis Obispo County.  The hospital’s mission is to provide the highest quality, most innovative health care to the patients they serve, to maintain and enhance cooperative relationships with doctors, payers, and employees and to continually improve the health of county residents. Looking for a great opportunity?  We seek a California licensed Pharmacist with five (5) or more years of supervisory experience for the role of Director of Pharmacy.  The person in this role will be responsible for overseeing all medication storage and preparation in the hospital.  He/she will ensure that the Pharmacy provides optimal services; meets all legal, accreditation and certification requirements; and complies with all applicable policies, procedures, codes, and standards of the organization.  He/she will serve as the facility’s Medication Safety Officer and attends Medication Safety Meetings.

Candidates must be currently licensed to practice Pharmacy in the State of California.  Must be a graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy recognized by the California State Board of Pharmacy.  Strong preference given to candidates with a Pharm.D.  Must have a minimum of five (5) years supervisory experience.  Must be able to work independently and handle stress appropriately.  Must be able to work cooperatively with facility and department staff.  Must be able to handle frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workload and work schedule.  Must be able to set priorities, make critical decisions, and respond quickly to emergencies.   Must be able to manage a diverse workforce.
