Looking for a great opportunity?  We seek a California licensed RN with five (5) or more years of clinical experience in perioperative services for the role of Director of Surgical Services.  The person in this role will be accountable for the management and operation of Surgical Services which includes 7 surgical suites, PACU, and the Sterile Processing Department. She/he will function with initiative and appropriate independent judgment. She/he will be responsible for the development of and maintenance of interdisciplinary relationships between all levels of departmental personnel. Her/his performance and behavior shall be both reflective and supportive of the Mission Statement and Core Values of the hospital. Responsibilities include development, maintenance and coordination of departmental operations. She/he will assure safe patient care and staff development. Other duties include but not limited to: developing policies and procedures, assuring quality control including managing the departmental operations and capital equipment budgets, the management and continuous maintenance of staffing and the development of personnel in the department. She/he will be responsible for managing Continuous Quality Improvement activities, risk prevention of infection, and staff adherence to evidence-based nursing practice. 

Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and hold current RN licensure in the State of California.  Must have current American Heart Association BLS (maintain current at all times).  Must have five (5) or more years of Perioperative Services experience that includes at least three (3) years of managerial experience.  Must have effective verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to maintain positive working relationships with patients, families, co-workers, and physicians inter- and intra-departmentally.  Must possess active listening skills.  Must demonstrate knowledge of current nursing theory and practice.  Must be a compassionate, non-judgmental patient caregiver and advocate.
